Bereavement

It is always a sad day when we lose one of our Sapper family. Whether they were a Veteran or currently serving, the REA are here to help remember the Royal Engineers who have passed away, and to try and relieve some of the stresses that their families go through at such a difficult time.

Notification of Passing & Memoriam

If you would like to notify us of the passing of an old comrade you can do this online by clicking on the button below. This will allow us to register the passing of an old comrade and let us begin helping the relatives as soon as possible.

The form includes an option to let us know whether the informant (after consulting with any surviving family members) would like to authorize an ‘In Memoriam’ entry in The Sapper magazine and the online Corps Memorial Book. The entries into both The Sapper magazine and online Corps Memorial Book will include a simple two or three line obituary.

*CORPS MEMORIAL BOOK USER INSTRUCTIONS*

To look for a person’s entry in the Memorial Book, please click on the small magnifying glass button at the bottom of the page once you have opened the Memorial Book. This will allow you to search the book for specific key words or phrases. We suggest searching for the service number or surname of the person you are looking for.
