UPDATE – An auction will take place over the weekend of RE memorabilia from the WO’s & Sgt’s Mess – follow the link to the auction booklet for the items that are to go ‘Under the Hammer’
Items from the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess could be yours to own when they go under the hammer this Corps Memorial Weekend.
Unique pieces including framed prints, plaques and decorative ornaments will be up for auction in Brompton Barracks on Saturday 18 September at 14:00. Place your bids for the chance to own a piece of the Corps’ history.
All for a good cause! Funds raised will support our Sapper family. Half will be reinvested back in the Mess to benefit Warrant Officers and Sergeants currently serving in the Corps. The other half will be gifted to the Royal Engineers Association for our work supporting serving Sappers, veterans and RE families.
Corps Memorial Weekend is our annual time of remembrance where we honour the courage and sacrifice of the proud sappers who gave their lives in service. After nationwide restrictions saw events cancelled in 2020, we’re pleased to see our traditional commemorations return for 2021. The auction is part of a whole weekend of events, which end with the annual Memorial Parade and service in Rochester Cathedral on Sunday 19 September.
All items going under the hammer will be printed in an auction catalogue, which can be viewed using the link above..
There’s no need to book! Just come along and join us on Saturday 18 September. Have your eye on something but can’t make it on the day? Get in touch with Sgt Carter at email@example.com to place your bids. The highest bidder will be able to collect their purchase from Brompton Barracks.
